Closing the Darien Gap: The Danger of the Migrant Trail

THE MIGRANT TRAIL ALONG THE ROUTE TO THE USA

The Darién Gap is a daunting barrier along one of the world’s most treacherous migration paths. This remote and roadless crossing lies between Colombia and Panama, spanning over sixty miles of lush rainforest, rugged mountains, and expansive swamplands. It is the sole land route connecting Central and South America, making it a popular choice for migrants seeking employment and security in the United States. As other routes by air and sea have faced increased enforcement, the Darién Gap has emerged as a primary transit point for those looking to journey.

JOE BIDEN CALLS TO SURGE THE BORDER

The ultimate destination for most migrants is the southern U.S. border, where they are seeking asylum from the Joe Biden administration. After Joe Biden reversed all of President Trump’s immigration laws, the mass invasion began. As you remember, he told everyone to come to the USA during a presidential debate. Biden said at the first Democratic primary debate for the 2020 election:

“What I would do as president is several more things, I would in fact make sure that there is… We immediately surge to the border, all those people who are seeking asylum.”

In the early months of 2021, following Biden’s election, a surge of economic migrants from Haiti, Venezuela, Ecuador, and other countries turned to using the dangerous Darien Gap jungle trail as a means for crossing from South America into Central America. Once they make it through the treacherous terrain, these migrants then make their way up to the border where Mayorkas has allowed them entry into the United States, taking over housing and jobs that Americans previously occupied. Sadly, according to numerous witnesses, many have perished during the grueling seven-day journey through the mountains, rivers, and jungles along the trail.

The Darien Gap trail is a living nightmare, a trail of desperation and chaos. Under the guise of humanitarian aid, USA-funded organizations are aiding and abetting the weaponized migration of illegal aliens into the United States, setting up camps near the treacherous terrain of the Darien Gap. The result? A catastrophic humanitarian crisis—and these organizations are complicit in its creation.

According to war correspondent Michael Yon, Alejandro Mayorkis and Anthony Blinken have been to the Darien Gap. Tensions are rising in the United States due to their actions or inactions; there are those who think they are complicit in the destruction of the USA and the weaponized migration.

You can view the document here that says: Secretary Mayorkas has abused his authority by repeatedly disregarding multiple laws passed by Congress—laws he swore an oath to uphold. These laws cover everything from requirements to detain and remove those who enter the country illegally, to clear limitations on paroling inadmissible aliens into the country. He has even defied a federal court order. Mayorkas has also told numerous falsehoods to both the American people and to Congress. This document lays out some of the most egregious examples of his misconduct and pertinent facts.

Those from the Caribbean and South America face the additional challenge of crossing the sixty-mile-wide Darién Gap, the only interruption in the continuous Pan-American Highway from Alaska to the southern tip of Argentina.

Shrouded in the treacherous Darien Gap, hidden from civilization, lies a network of camps. These havens offer survival essentials to those desperate enough to risk their lives illegally entering the United States and offer benefits using taxpayers’ dollars.

The International Organization for Migration is one of the many who are funding the invasion of the USA. They are leading this charge, which is responsible for aiding over half a million migrants in their perilous journey towards the American dream. But as tensions rise and resources dwindle, can this organization truly provide the salvation these migrants seek? Only time will tell in this high-stakes game of life and death at the Darien Gap.

The area is notorious for being one of the wettest regions in the world, with relentless downpours that can unleash deadly landslides upon the jagged mountain terrain. The scorching temperatures soar to a blistering 95°F (35°C), suffocating with their intense humidity and amplifying the unbearable thirst and hunger that never cease. Surviving in this treacherous land is a constant battle against nature and its inhabitants – including ruthless crocodiles and venomous snakes lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike at any moment.

In Acandí, the desperate migrants begin the treacherous journey through the Darién Gap jungle. The unforgiving terrain stretches for five to ten days, pushing them to their physical and mental limits. They are at the mercy of ruthless guides known as “coyotes,” navigating them through this nightmare. But dangers lurk along the path – smugglers, criminal groups, including Colombia’s largest drug cartel commit crimes against those on the trail.  These violent factions prey on the vulnerable migrants, extorting them and subjecting them to unspeakable acts of violence.

And in the heart of the jungle, where civilization is a distant memory, they face a new kind of terror – wild animals, deadly insects, and the constant threat of dehydration with no safe drinking water in sight. Robbery, rape, and human trafficking – are all rampant in this lawless land. Among the weary travelers are innocent children, half under five years old, according to UNICEF’s estimates. For these young souls, the journey is one of unimaginable suffering – losing parents, getting separated from family members, or succumbing to death itself in their search for a better life. Meanwhile, UNICEF and a few hundred other organizations support the migrants instead of trying to stop them on this deadly journey to invade the USA.

As they push forward, their hope dwindles. Malnutrition and exhaustion take their toll on the group, and the unrelenting rain weakens their spirits. Piles of discarded clothes and belongings witness their struggle, and the memories of friends and family left behind haunt these survivors, making their way toward the United States.

The Trecherous Darien Trail

Each step takes them deeper into a world of relentless challenges and unrelenting danger. On the first day, they will scale the Loma del Desafío, a slick and treacherous hill that promises to test every ounce of strength. But this was just a preview of what was to come.

Beyond the Loma del Desafío lay the actual test of endurance—the Loma de la Muerte. They called it the Hill of Death for a reason. Its steep slopes were littered with treacherously narrow paths that offered no room for error. One wrong move, and they risk plummeting to their demise. And if that isn’t bad enough, there are still more paths and hills to conquer, each one more punishing than the last.

The trail goes through endless rivers and rain-soaked forests, and then you come to Bajo Chiquito, where bloated corpses litter the path like macabre mile markers. It is not some twisted nightmare—it is reality. And it is all too real on the Darien trail—dead bodies. You will encounter fellow travelers who have been trekking for weeks through treacherous terrain, some with severe injuries that have left them unable to walk without excruciating pain. Then some will get trench foot and get very sick and even die from it.

As they trudge through the dense jungle, youths suddenly ambushed them. They wield weapons and demand their supplies, communication devices, and currency before brutally violating women. But this is only part of the horrors on the trail…Many will not make it to the other side.

Though there are multiple paths to choose from, most migrants make their way out of the jungle at Bajo Chiquito, a small village located in eastern Panama. Another option is the village of Canaán Membrillo. Upon arrival, they are greeted by various global organizations such as UNICEF. These groups have established reception centers to offer medical assistance, psychological support, and access to clean water, hygiene products, and proper sanitation facilities.

So instead of spending their time, efforts, and money to stop the deadly trail along the invasion of the United States, they will give you counseling if they were raped, assaulted, their children were stolen, they were robbed, or they tripped over a dead body or have PTSD from the traumas of the trail.

You can read about our article on who is funding their dangerous journey, leaving them vulnerable to rape, disease, and death. These groups should redirect their resources towards stopping the migration they claim to support. By enabling the cartels and encouraging this deadly trek, they are putting countless lives at risk. They have helped to create a humanitarian crisis.

Despite the potential consequences and danger, humanitarian organizations persisted in their efforts.

Instead of aiding these groups, they should use their resources to prevent them from embarking on this perilous journey that leaves them susceptible to violence, illness, and death. These organizations should focus on deterring the migration they claim to advocate for. By facilitating the actions of criminal cartels and promoting this deadly trek, they are endangering countless lives. They claim to be humanitarian groups but have contributed to a crisis. While some who work for the organizations may believe they are doing good, most are unaware of the damage they are causing to the United States. And why aren’t they putting their effort into stopping these people?? Because there is too much money behind the invasion of the USA.

Starting in September 2023, the Biden administration announced that it would provide temporary legal status to hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan immigrants currently residing in the United States.

TRILATERAL AGREEMENT DARIEN –  APRIL 2023

The three governing bodies, USA, Columbia and Panama, share a common goal to accomplish the following ambitious objectives:

Eliminate the illegal trafficking of individuals and goods through both land and sea routes in Darién, which has resulted in the death and exploitation of vulnerable people for considerable profit by the cartels.

Create new lawful and adaptable methods for tens of thousands of migrants and refugees as an alternative to irregular migration.

Yet this article from HIAS, a major supporter of the migrants in the invasion of the USA, dated November of 2023, is in reference to working in the

Darién Gap to support vulnerable refugees.
